Scheduled Power Outage will be August 20, 2024, starting at 1:00 pm and lasting four to five hours. The city understands this will be an inconvenience but unfortunately the outage needs to occur to make much needed improvements to our electrical system. Vandalia City Hall is having in and out internet issues that are causing phones to be in and out as well. We have a call in to our billing software to fix the problem. You are welcome to visit City Hall with questions but we are limited in what we can look up at any given time.

Thursday, August 8th through Friday, August 9th, South Main to State Street will be closed for road paving. Please follow detour signs.


As most of you know we have had some issues in recent months with customers receiving bills in a timely manner. We would like to ask all customers to call city hall at (573) 594-6186 and add an email to your account. Our online service will automatically send you an electronic email invoice as soon as billing is completed each month. This electronic invoice DOES NOT require you to pay your bill online, but it does give you the option and link to do so if you would like. This service will also send a reminder email to you of your bill is not paid by the 15th of each month This service will ensure that customers receive bills as soon as they are available.


Daynes Waste Disposal has changed their recycling days. Starting Wednesday, September 11th, recycling will be the 2nd Wednesday of each month.
August 26th will be the last Monday pickup for recycling.

Updating your information helps city hall contact you for any emergencies, waters leaks, power outages and with your email address, you can receive your bill by email.
