The City of Vandalia Municipal Court has jurisdiction of certain offenses committed within the city limits including:

• Traffic infractions
  • Misdemeanor traffic offenses
  • Criminal offenses, including DUI
• Parking violations
• All violations of city ordinances related to zoning, building codes, and more

Courtroom Staff

The Municipal Court is staffed by a city prosecutor, and court clerk. A judge presides over the courtroom and a public defender will be appointed to represent qualifying indigent defendants, if required by Missouri statute. The Municipal Courts is an independent branch of government, separate from the Board of Aldermen and executive offices.
