Garbage Collection
Residential customers receive weekly garbage collection on Tuesday (north of the railroad tracks) and on Friday (south of the railroad tracks).  Customers are advised to place their garbage at the curb the night before as the trucks begin early on the assigned days. 

Recycling Collection

Residential customers receive monthly recycling collection on the last Monday of the month.  Recycling items must be placed in special plastic recycling bags.  Recycling bags are available at City Hall.  Customers are advised to place their recycling at the curb the night before as the trucks begin early on the assigned day.

The following is a list of acceptable items for recycling:

• Steel food cans
• Aluminum cans
• #1 & #2 plastic products
• NO glass, cardboard or paper products accepted!!!

Annual Spring/Fall Clean Up

Dayne's Disposal conducts an annual spring and fall cleanup for the residents of Vandalia on the second Saturday of May and October.  Start time is 5:00 a.m.  Please view the Residential Cleanup flyer for guidelines and restrictions.
